Getting started using the Nexis Uni database

What is Nexis Uni?

Nexis Uni is a searchable scholarly database. It currently contains over 17,000 news, business and legal resources suitable for academic research.

The database contains:

  • Print and online journals
  • Television and radio broadcasts
  • Legal sources for federal and state cases and statutes, including U.S. Supreme Court decisions since 1790
  • Local, regional, national and international newspapers
  • Business information on over 80 million U.S. and international companies

Nexis Uni is a great choice if you are looking for citable resources, particularly for courses in Administration of Justice, Paralegal Studies, Political Science or Business.

Accessing Nexis Uni

You do not need a special registration code or account to browse Nexis Uni. You do not need to Register or set up a User Profile.

To access the database from the Merritt College Library website, follow these instructions:

  • Go to the Merritt College Library website
  • Select the link for Databases & eBooks
  • Select the link for A-Z Databases. This will take you to our list of all databases.
  • The databases are listed alphabetically. Go to the N's and select Nexis Uni.
