Do you have unreliable WiFi access? If so, you might benefit from a portable WiFi hotspot.
The Merritt College Library is able to supply students with WiFi hotspots. Students currently enrolled at Merritt are allowed to borrow a T-Mobile hotspot for a semester with the potential to renew for any following semesters. To borrow a hotspot, please bring your Merritt student ID card to the library during open hours which are Monday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Tuesday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Wednesday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Thursday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; and Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Hotspots may be picked up at the library Circulation Desk. Please note that the number of hotspots is limited and that they are loaned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Hotspots must be returned to the library when students are no longer enrolled at Merritt College.

Your mobile hotspot system will come in a box with the hotspot device, a charging cord, a manual and a SIM card. If possible, please hang onto the box and manual so that they may be returned together with the hotspot.
The SIM card may already be installed in your device. To confirm that the SIM card is in place, open the back of the hotspot, lift up the battery, and confirm that the SIM card is installed.
The Navigation/Menu button is also the Power button, located on the side of the device. Hold the button in for a couple of seconds to turn on the hotspot. The device screen is located on the top of the hotspot. After the device is turned on, you may repeatedly press the menu button to cycle through the device's informational screens, including those of battery charge, monthly data usage (you are limited to 20Gb per month) and the WiFi's name and password. The password may also be found on the box the hotspot came in. The menu button may also be used to turn off the device. To shut the hotspot off, hold the button in for a few seconds, and confirm that the screen says "Good-bye."
To connect your hotspot to your laptop, tablet or phone, make sure the hotspot is turned on and then simply find the hotspot name as a WiFi option. Join the network using the hotspot password found on the box or the hotspot information screen.
