When you walk into the Merritt College Library, you'll see the Reference Desk.
The librarian sitting behind that desk is a Reference Librarian. This librarian will help you find things you need in the library.
If you need books or articles for school, ask the Reference Librarian.
The Circulation Desk staff will help you check out your books.
You may borrow a laptop here.
The Circulation Desk has some textbooks you may borrow for 2 hours in the library.
To check out books, you will need your Peralta ID card. If you do not have an ID card yet, please follow these instructions to get one.
The Book Stacks are the books you can take home.
The Stacks are upstairs (on the 3rd floor). New Books are on the 2nd floor.
You can check out these books for 3 weeks.
For help finding a book, ask the Reference Librarian.
Reference books are by the Reference Desk.
Reference books are filled with facts.
Dictionaries and encyclopedias are reference books.
The reference books can not be checked out but you can use them in the library.
You can use our computers for your homework.
You need your Peralta ID to log in.
You may use the computer for four hours.
You may print from the library computers to the library printer.
You will need to put cash on a print card. You may use your Peralta ID as a print card or buy one for 50 cents.
Buy a card in the Copy/Print room. Ask a Librarian for help!
