ENGL 5 Argumentative Research Paper

MLA Style

For this paper you will use MLA to format your paper and cite your sources. While creating citations looks complicated don't fret - it's actually pretty straightforward.

Citing your sources is about giving credit to others authors' thoughts and ideas that you used to create your paper. There are two elements: A works cited page and in-text citations. We'll go into each of these below.

Using online citation generators is not advisable. The only way to ensure that you are creating correct citations is to do it yourself.

Remember, plagiarism is failing to cite your sources.

Again, if you need help visit the library and ask a librarian or use our virtual chat on the library's homepage.

What is Plagiarism?

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary to plagiarize means:

to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source or to commit literary theft : present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source
